Shy Albatross Thalassarche cauta Vulnerable in Australia & Victoria January 8th, 2017 Portland pelagic, Victoria, Australia Canon EOS 1D X Canon EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens I've always wanted to see Albatross, so when the opportunity came up to go on my first pelagic I was pretty excited! Fearing sea-sickness that could really make the experience unpleasant, I sought appropriate pharmaceutical support (read the good drugs - thanks David Stowe!) that saw me make it through the voyage without a hint of sickness. Even though the pelagic was relatively quiet ("the quietest pelagic we've ever had"), I was still pleased to get up close & personal with a couple of albatross, including this beauty.
