They can be very tricky to get in a decent position for photographing however. Gang-gangs are known to gorge themselves on the seeds inside these berries, particularly around late Summer & early Autumn when they are at the tail end of feeding their fledged young. This particular male has broken the end off the branch on which it is perched & has it clasped in his right claw while he uses his left to hold the bunch of berries he is munching.

Each year around late January after the breeding season, these beautiful small Cockatoos will begin returning from their breeding sites with their offspring & feast on these fruiting berries. They will often stay in the same location for several weeks until the supply of berries is exhausted.
